To take the measurements needed to make your new sail yourself, all you need to do is follow our instructions, paying particular attention to a few simple rules:
- Always take the measurements with a 20 metre tape, the only reliable system
- Avoid taking measurements when there is a lot of wind (dimensions less accurate).
- Attach a messenger to the halyard on which the 20 metre tape is fixed, in order to recover the halyard if the tape breaks.
- Read the measurement on the 20 metre tape twice and write it down legibly on the measurement sheet. Only read and write one measurement at a time.
